Programme Themes

Check out the global wind agenda across four themed days below.

10:00 - 17:00

22 Sept: Grids and Electrifications

As wind power scales across global markets, the next phase of growth will depend on the readiness of the wider energy system. This day will explore how grids, electrification, digital infrastructure, storage, flexibility and system planning can support faster renewable deployment while strengthening energy resilience and security. Sessions will look at how electricity systems can remain reliable in the face of rising demand, extreme weather, geopolitical uncertainty and growing pressure on infrastructure. Discussions will focus on the technologies, investment and policy conditions needed to integrate more wind power, reduce bottlenecks and build electricity systems that are secure, flexible and ready for the future.
10:30 - 17:00

23 Sept: Offshore Wind - Fixed and Floating

Offshore wind is entering a new phase of global growth, with mature markets moving towards larger scale delivery and emerging markets preparing their first major projects. This day will explore the future of offshore wind across fixed bottom and floating technologies, energy islands, offshore grids, ports, supply chains, finance and project delivery. Sessions will focus on what is needed to move from ambition to construction, reduce project risk and unlock the next wave of offshore wind growth across global markets.
10:30 - 16:50

24 Sept: Regional Markets

This day will focus on how regional markets turn wind ambition into real projects, building on GWEC’s global and regional reports, policy work and collaboration with national associations. Sessions will spotlight the specific markets and delegations represented at WindEnergy Hamburg, using their presence to anchor practical discussions on market readiness, policy priorities and investment conditions. From auction design, permitting, grids and ports to development finance, supply chains and public sector readiness, the day will connect local market perspectives with global industry experience. It will show how GWEC supports regional market development by convening governments, industry, investors and associations around the shared goal of moving from targets and roadmaps to bankable pipelines and project delivery.
10:30 - 15:15

25 Sept: Enabling Wind

The final day will focus on the practical challenges that determine whether wind projects can move from planning to delivery. Sessions will explore permitting reform, AI enabled solutions, community engagement, public acceptance, repowering, end of life and EOLIS. The day will bring together industry, policy, technology and local perspectives to examine how the wind sector can reduce delays, manage risk, strengthen trust and deliver projects responsibly in an increasingly complex operating environment.
