About Miguel

Miguel Pereira is the Executive Assistant to the CEO at GWEC, based in Lisbon. In this role, he supports the CEO across a range of global energy initiatives, contributing to research, policy analysis, and the preparation of briefing materials and strategic communications. He also assists in preparing high-level engagements with policymakers, governments, and industry stakeholders, while monitoring developments in renewable energy policy and regulatory frameworks. He also manages the CEO’s complex calendar and correspondence.



Prior to joining GWEC, Miguel served as Energy and Green Transition Advisor at the Embassy of Denmark in Lisbon, advising Danish companies on investment opportunities and regulatory developments in Portugal across key clean energy sectors, including wind power, green hydrogen, and biogas. He also worked as a Researcher in Energy and Sustainability at HOLOSS, contributing to European research projects on energy markets, policy, and sustainability.



Miguel holds a Master’s degree in Energy Policy from the University of Sussex and completed one year of the Master’s programme in International Economics and European Studies at the ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management. He previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Lisbon. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish and he’s professional interests focus on energy policy, geopolitics, and the role of renewable energy in the global energy transition.
