About Mariana
Mariana has joined the Global Wind Energy Council as a Grids Specialist, where she will lead GWEC’s grids and electrification policy work pillar, driving policy action by identifying and addressing key challenges to renewable energy integration and supporting the development of more resilient, flexible, and investment-ready power systems.
With over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, Mariana has a background in power grids, having worked as a system operator and network planner at Portugal’s transmission and distribution system operators, respectively.
Mariana holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Electrotechnical Engineering from NOVA School of Science and Technology and a postgraduate qualification in Business Management from NOVA School of Business and Economics.
