About Jonathan

​I have spent the last two decades driven by a single focus: accelerating the Energy Transition and adapting the world to a clean energy system.

​My journey into renewables wasn't traditional. I started as a lawyer, trained to look for risks and negotiate transactions. But as I moved into the energy sector, I realized that the real challenge wasn't just in the contracts—it was in the scale of ambition required to change how the world powers itself.

​I had the privilege of leading two fantastic globally successful organisations as the Founding CEO.  Most recently at Corio Generation, where we built one of the world's largest offshore wind development portfolios (30+ GW). Before that, I built and led Iberdrola’s offshore wind business from its inception, overseeing over €14 billion in investment.

​Throughout my career, I have dedicated my time to building an industry, rather than simply building projects or companies and have served as Chair of numerous industry and public bodies. From 2023-2025, I served as Chair of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), where we advocated for the wind industry on the global stage, working with governments and policymakers to remove barriers to deployment - one of our most notable successes was aligning with other renewable technologies to form the Global Renewables Alliance and to secure a pledge to triple renewables by 2023 at COP28 in Dubai.

What I have learned through leading teams across Europe, Asia, and the Americas is that technology alone doesn't build wind farms; people do. Whether it’s securing "social license" from local communities or fostering a purpose-driven culture within an organization, the success of the energy transition relies on authentic leadership and collaboration.
