WindMade, the standard designed to show products have been made using wind energy, has confirmed it is to expand into other forms of renewables with the creation of a new label. The new label will recognise renewable energy sources, including wind, solar and geothermal, as well as hydro power and biomass from approved certification schemes.

WindMade said this would offer flexibility to companies that buy different types of renewable energy. Further details about the launch of the standard will be revealed in 2013.
