Wind starts to blow offshore

Until now, it was the onshore wind sector in India which was making waves. However, with a pilot project in Gujarat underway and the FOWIND project, things may finally be looking up for wind offshore

In the last few months, the government’s decision to continue with policies such as Accelerated Depreciation (AD) and Generation-Based Incentive (GBI) – along with its plans to launch the Wind Energy Mission – is being seen as a move which is likely to speed up the development of wind energy projects in India, and also open up the offshore wind sector.
