Wind power is one of the best ways to address climate change, media misreports research on local temperatures

3 May, 2012

On 29 April some media sources published reports on new research into wind farms, claiming that wind farms can cause local temperature increases. The news, based on a study carried out on large wind farms in Texas, has been falsely linked to global climate change. The wording is misleading in this context and conflates small-scale, local impacts on night time land surface temperatures and global climate disruption.
