photo-ramon-fiestasRamón Fiestas Hummler is a lawyer, Graduated in Business, and specialized in energy and environmental policy with over 30 years experience. Strongly involved in renewable energy affairs, especially in legislation, regulation, business and financing matters, representing large renewable energy associations and providing consultancy over the last 15 years in renewable energy matters. 
Appointed by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) as Chairman for its Latin American Committee, he served as Secretary General for the Spanish Wind Power Association (AEE) since it was launched in December 2002 until March 2010.    Before joining the renewable energy sector, Mr. Fiestas has been leading the Legal Services of one of the largest Spanish based utilities, Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, S.A., merged by EDP, in which he prior served over more than 15 years as Lawyer and Barrister at Court.

photo-santi-pares-2Santi Parés has been working in environment since 1987, initially as a meteorologist on Spanish public television. He has been working on management of natural hazards, became shareholder and business director of the company Meteosim SL, based on the development of meteorological and environmental consulting, and later as Business Development Director in Europe and LATAM with AWST. From the beginning, the role of the company of Mr. Pares was the analysis of potential markets and the design of new products based on atmosphere simulation and energy analysis, main technological core of the company.

For over 10 years, Mr. Pares has led all international business activities in Europe, MENA region and Latin America. Today, Mr. Pares is the director of business development for Europe and Latin America of AWS Truepower. He is responsible for expanding the company into new regions and markets, and also to identify potential market opportunities in energy consulting. He is responsible for managing relationships with key customers, both private companies and government agencies, and in turn represents the company in the European and Latin American forums.

mauro-soaresMauro Soares is National Director for Renewable Energy at the Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Argentina. He is currently in charge of redesigning and implementing a new regulatory framework for the clean energy industry in Argentina.   
He is an economist (Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires) and he has Master’s of Sciences in Management (Sloan Program, Stanford University).  He has worked in the traditional and renewable energy industries for 20 years. He has held different management positions in the private sector where his last role was as Manager of Business Development for Tecpetrol based out of Buenos Aires. He has also worked extensively in the creation and growth of the Argentine Renewable Energy Chamber (CADER) and with other local NGOs and think tanks such as Fundación Avina, Directorio Legislativo, Escenarios Energéticos 2030, Fundación la Tierra Habla. He is a professor of Energy Markets and Project Evaluation at the National Technological University (UTN) in Buenos Aires. Since 2011, and based on his background and contributions, Mauro is a member of the BMW Foundation´s network of World Sustainable Leaders.

sebastian-kindSebastian Kind is Mechanical Engineer from the National Technological University of Argentina (UTN), has a Master’s degree in Renewable Energies from EUREC Agency in Brussels (Belgium), from Zaragoza University (Spain) and from Athens National Technological University (Greece). He has a degree in management development from IAE Business School (Argentina).
He has more than 15 years of expertise in the renewable energy industry.  He has developed and is Director of the Master’s in Renewable Energies from the UTN and advisor of the National Honorable Senate. He had a remarkable role in Senator Guinle’s team, helping through the process of passing the new Argentinian Renewable Energies law, approved in September 2015.
He has been an advisor of wind power projects for the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Uruguay, a consultant for the Ministry of Energy of Chile and for the German Agency of Cooperation GIZ in subjects related to Renewable Energies and tender processes.
He had carried out executives positions in the private sector, in London as well as in Buenos Aires. Sebastian has published about thirty papers and dissertations on international congress.
He’s currently working as Undersecretary for Renewables Energies at the Ministry of Energy and Mining.

photo-cali-vilalonga-cropped2Juan Carlos Villalonga is the National Congressman of Cambiemos Party, representing the City of Buenos Aires, and spokesman of Los Verdes, the Argentinean eco-political organization. Former President of the Environmental Protection Agency of the City of Buenos Aires and former Political Director of Greenpeace Argentina (from 1994 to 2011).
Villalonga has been participating actively in the environmental movement since 1984. In 1985 he founded the ‘Taller Ecologista’ in the city of Rosario, one of the main environmental organizations in the region, and he was part of the general coordination until 1994. During those years he led many nationalcampaigns and from Latin America as well.
In December 2015, he took leadership of the Argentinean delegation on representation of the new government at the Conference of Parties N°22 of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP22 in Paris. He worked to get Argentina to a new level of international commitment in terms of climate contributions.

Founding partner of GB Abogados law firm. Expert in Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Law and Project finance operations´ design and structuring.
Since 2002 professor of Sales Contracts and Trust Funds, Program with focus on Corporate Law at Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES).
Professor of Regulatory Framework of the Renewable Energies Master at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional.
Consultant for companies and investors. He has worked as an external consultant on the structuring of the Renewable Energies Development Fund (FODER) and the guarantees granted in the first round of tenders of RenovAr.  

photo-christian-algar2Cristian Algar has more than seven years of experience within the renewable energy sector, including wind, solar, biomass, and cogeneration projects. Prior to joining AWST, Mr. Algar developed projects in Spain, Italy, Central and South America from greenfield to financial closure. His responsibilities also included full project development and technical services such as solar site selection, permitting acquisition, negotiation of PPA, EPC and O&M contracts, plant design, energy production, and project development engineering. As a Project Manager with AWST, Mr. Algar leads project due diligence from Project Finance side with Lenders to M&A with Sponsors and funds, performs contract reviews, review of commercial structure, risk assessment and allocation, financial model and OPEX cost reviews, site visits and construction monitoring. Mr. Algar holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering from the Superior Technical Engineering School of Barcelona (“ETSEIB”) and also a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology (“IIT”) of Chicago.

Currently Sales Director of Vestas in LATAM for south cone (ex. Brazil), that joined Vestas 6 years ago and has contributed to the Vestas’ leading position in Uruguay, Chile, Peru and Argentina, responsible for the project closing with the different stakeholders for more than 800MW that are installed or under construction in the region. More than 15 years of commercial and negotiation experience in the energy & industry sector covering different positions, including 4 years based in Germany  leading international business opportunities together with multicultural teams across all continents.

photo-ben-backwellBen Backwell is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, a global advisory firm listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with offices in 26 countries. He has more than 10 years’ experience in the renewables industry as a journalist, commentator and consultant.
As part of FTI’s Clean Energy practice, Ben advises wind and solar companies and financial institutions on their business strategies, communications and public affairs engagement across the world. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and takes part in a number of industry associations such as GWEC, RenewableUK, and Solar Power Europe. He has published two books about the global wind industry and is currently writing a third.
Prior to getting involved in renewables, Ben worked as a foreign correspondent and analyst in the energy industry, working in the US, Argentina, Brazil and Europe.
Ben studied in London and at the University of Buenos Aires and has a Masters’ Degree in Politics from the Institute of Latin American Studies, London.  He is a passionate supporter of Huracán football club.

photo-hebert-nascimentoHebert Nascimento has a bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with a Master Degree in Production Engineering with specialization in Quality and Productivity. He was responsible for the start-up of a new Alstom assembly plant to manufacture wind turbines in Brazil achieving outstanding results from construction to hiring and training people, lean manufacturing implementation and fast production ramp-up. He was also involved in several wind farm projects development and construction in Brazil such as Brotas de Macaúbas (112 MW), Rei dos Ventos (190 MW), Corredor de Senandes (108 MW).
At K2 Management, Hebert has been leading the market development in Latin America, supporting local developers on its onshore wind projects and also investors through due diligences for several large scale operational and under construction wind farms in Brazil.
Prior to his role at K2 Management and Alstom, Hebert Nascimento developed an international career working 18 years in the aeronautical sector for Embraer (the Brazilian jet maker giant) and Airbus Helicopters. He held positions in the areas of Contracts Management and Supply Chain Management in Brazil besides his 2 years expatriation to Europe to manage 3 international partners located in Spain, Belgium and France during the development phase of the Embraer 170/190 jets, achieving the certification, on-time, with CTA, FAA and EASA.

Industrial Engineer Regina Ranieri is the president of GEOTEK Renewable Energy of Argentina, representing Vaisala in Argentina.  GEOTEK and Vaisala have been collaborating in the project RenovaAr 2016 for the use of Renewable Energy by certifying the production of 1GW of energy in all renewable projects.  Vaisala supports the Argentinian sector through due diligence to investors and forecast to CAMMESA and local services. Regina is finishing a master in energy in “Centro de estudios de la actividad regulatoria energética” (CEARE) and has worked for over 5 years in Argentina´s renewable energy sector starting with the turbine supplier company IMPSA.

Bernardo Andrews joined the company in August 2016, serving as chief financial officer. Prior to joining Genneia, Bernardo was CFO in CGC and Financial Director in Corporacion America, an Energy and Infrastructure conglomerate in Latin America.
He served as portfolio manager, financial director, regional chief financial officer and regional head of corporate finance at GDF Suez.
He earlier held several positions at the structured financing division of Enron Corporation in Argentina and Brazil.
He holds a degree in economics from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and has conducted graduate studies in economics at the Universidad de Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires

Cristhyan Rey joined SMBC in September 2015 as a Vice President in the Power and Renewables sector within the Latin American Project Finance group focusing on structuring and origination of Project Finance transactions.  Prior to joining SMBC, Cristhyan worked for Espirito Santo Investment Bank’s Origination and Structured Finance group and for WestLB’s Global Energy Team where he focused on project finance and advisory services in the Americas.
Over the last nine years, Cristhyan has been actively involved in the origination, execution and syndication of Project Finance and Structured Finance transactions in the Americas’ power and energy sectors.  Notable transactions in which Cristhyan recently performed a key role were the US$200 million senior credit facilities for the 100 MW Pelicano solar plant in Chile, US$100 million bridge loan and the US$300 million term loan for the 215 MW Penonome II wind farm in Panama, a financial advisory for the financing of the Norte II combined cycle power plant in Mexico, and the US$990 million in credit facilities for La Yesca hydroelectric plant in Mexico, among others.

Eugenio Chinchón is a professional with 17 years of experience within the energy generation sector in Europe and South America.
He has been the Country Manager Chile for DNV GL (formerly known as Garrad Hassan) since 2012, the world largest renewable consultancy in the world and number one in Chile, where he is responsible for its commercial activities the renewable business in Chile and Southern Cone.  Previously, he used to be European Business Development Manager in the Irish Utility ESB.
He holds an MBA with focus in risk management, finance and strategy from UCD Michael Smurfit School in Dublin, Ireland (2005-2007). He is also an Electrical and Civil Engineer with specialization energy and control automation from the University of Chile, Chile (1991-1998).

Luis Medina currently serves as an Associate Investment Officer in the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), where he is part of the Infrastructure Team covering Latin America. Mr. Medina began his career as an Economist in a consulting firm specialized in macroeconomic analysis and forecast. He then joined Vestas, where he participated in several wind power transactions (500MW) in different countries of Latin America & Caribbean.  Prior to IFC, he was Controlling Manager of the Broadband Business for DIRECTV Argentina and M&A Senior Consultant in KPMG Corporate Finance. Mr. Medina is an economist graduated from CEMA University and holds an MBA from IE Business School in Spain

photo-gustavo-baez2Gustavo Baez has a Electric Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional de Rosario and has more than 20 years of experience in the Argentine electricity sector.
In 1993 he started working at CAMMESA after working in consultancy, always in the electricity sector.
At CAMMESA he worked as head of Economic Transactions from 2000 to 2012 and he participated in the design of the Economic Transactions System and the company´s billing system. He is now part of the Analysis and Controlling Management and his work is mainly related to projects that aim at the expansion of the generation capacity.
He is representing CAMMESA at the Executive Committees of Trust Funds that are responsible for the construction of ‘Vuelta de Obligado’ and ‘Guillermo Brown’ power plants.   

Auguphoto-augusto-budasto L. Buda is the responsible of the department for Structured Finance at BBVA Argentina´s investment banking. He is in charge of the origination and execution of transaction of debts, project and acquisition financing and restructuring of assets are under his charge. He has a BA in Economics from the University of San Andrés and a MSc in Finance from the University Torcuato di Tella. He also participated in various panels of Economy and Finance in Latin-America. Most of his professional career he has been working for BBVA Argentina, where he now is in the role of Vice President of Corporate Banking covering the energy sector and leading the main operations of financing for this sector.

Main focus is on renewable IPP projects. Arnaud currently works on projects in Argentina, Bulgaria, Maldives, Nepal, Senegal, and Zambia

Monica Castillo is Sales Manager at Siemens for the Latin Americas in the wind energy sector. In this role, she is responsible for developing growth strategy in the Austral Andina Market.  One of her biggest commitments is to provide tremendous value to the region by offering solutions as per the clients’ specific project needs.
Mrs. Castillo joined Siemens Power Generation in 2006. Since then she has worked in several positions in engineering and proposals for Wind and Oil & Gas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

Rolf Epp is currently CEO and President of BMW Argentina.  Rolf has a career spanning 19 years with BMW and his experience covers sales, marketing and communciation.  
Rolf has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of San Andres, and a Master in Business Administration through the University of Louisville (Kentucky).
He is currently a member of the Board of the German Argentina Chamber of Commerce.

David Ruyet (Barcelona, 1970) has more than twenty years of proven experience within the renewable energy industry. During his career, Mr. Ruyet has proven track record operating assets both in Europe and South America: more than 1000 MW in wind, 30 MW in solar and 200 MW in cogeneration, and his experience spans all project stages: from pre-planning until managing the operation of the power plant.
He started his career in ENDESA in 1996 as project manager (managing a 6 turbine wind farm of 590 kW). Until 2007 he was the Technical Director in the Barcelona Energy Agency, the local agency of the City Council of Barcelona.
In 2012 he moved to Buenos Aires (Argentina) working for the Spanish business group of construction and services GRUPO SANJOSE, focused in the energy field and non-construction business (civil works and construction building) where he works from 2007 reporting directly to the GRUPO SANJOSE’s Chairman.
Mr. Ruyet graduated as industrial engineer in the Superior Technical Engineering School of Barcelona (“ETSEIB”) and holds an MBA from ESADE Business School.
