Samuel Leupold, Executive Vice President for wind power at DONG, Jens Tommerup, CEO of MHI Vestas, and Michael Hannibal, CEO Offshore of Siemens Wind Power Division, will act as Event Ambassadors at EWEA OFFSHORE in March 2015 – united in their vision to urge the EU’s political leaders to give offshore wind the political stability it needs.

Offshore wind is an essential part of a sustainable energy future for Europe. Without offshore wind, Europe will not meet its targets for renewables in 2030 and for climate protection in 2050; no other renewable technology can meet this challenge.

The 2015 conference (taking place in Copenhagen on 10 – 12 March 2015) will address many of the challenges that the industry will need to adapt to in order to become more competitive over the next decade, including effective support policies, new innovative technologies and industrialising of the supply chain to name a few.

Cost reduction for competitive advantage is one aspect that will receive a special focus at the conference. Following the grand opening on 10 March, compelling speakers will impart the knowledge and thinking that will inspire new directions and spur growth in the offshore wind business via 24 conference sessions.

As well as 3 industry thought leaders set to open the conference, other big players that will be present at the exhibition include: A2 SEA, ABB, ALSTOM, CG, DNV-GL, EnBW, GAMESA, INGETEAM, LM WIND POWER, PRYSMIAN, RES, SENVION and WPD.
