GWEC at Husum
‚Äú30,000+ people jammed into 8 huge tents plus various Congress buildings¬†where more than 1200 exhibitors at the bi-ennial Husum wind energy fair on Schleswieg-Holstein‚Äôs North Sea coast.¬† Unlike most conference venues, most of the surrounding scenery consists of farms, cows, horses, donkeys sheep and 1300 wind turbines of various sizes and vintages in the immediate vicinity.
Delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Japan are among the international visitors from at least 90 countries who have come to witness the world‚Äôs largest (in terms of attendance and exhibitors) wind energy fair.
This year also included a visit from the descendant of the former monarch of the region, HRH Prince Joachim of Denmark‚Ä¶and fittingly, the traditional ‚ÄòWindmaster‚Äôs Dinner‚Äô was held in what used to be the King of Denmark‚Äôs residence here when Schleswieg-Holstein used to be a part of Denmark.‚Äù
