CanWEA’s new campaigns/publications/events

Campaigns/initiatives:

  • Show Your Support for Wind Energy and Become a Friend of Wind!

The majority of Canadians support wind energy for its environmental, economic and social benefits. The Friends of Wind website was designed to give that often-silent majority tools to join the conversation and speak up about wind energy in their community. Visit the Friends of Wind website at:www.friendsofwind.ca.

  • Power of Wind Blog Contest

To celebrate the growing contribution of wind energy in Canada, CanWEA launched the Power of Wind Blog Contest on June 15th (Global Wind Day). Students entering post-secondary education were invited to submit a 300 word blog on the subject of wind energy for a chance to win bursaries of $250, $500 and $2,000. The contest closed on September 15th and the winners will be announced at CanWEA’s Annual Conference in October.  For more information on the contest, please visit:www.friendsofwind.ca.
