AWEA’s Windpower 2017

WINDPOWER is not niche. WINDPOWER is not alternative. We are not the energy underdogs. WINDPOWER is mainstream. WINDPOWER is big time. WINDPOWER contributed more new electric generating capacity in 2016 than any other source.

With over 75 gigawatts of WINDPOWER generating electricity for consumers around the U.S. and a stable business environment resulting from the 5 year extension of the Production Tax Credit/Investment Tax Credit, our industry is focused on continued success and growth. And the industry’s track record as the biggest, fastest and cheapest path to a more sustainable electricity sector is attracting the world’s most iconic brands. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wal-Mart, General Motors, IKEA, Yahoo! to just name a few, all invest in wind. These and other corporate buyers accounted for more than 50% of all wind deployed in 2016.

The industry's progress will be on full display at WINDPOWER 2017 in Anaheim, California. We will unveil new enhancements to the show and feature a new focus on the brands investing in wind. We saw 13% growth in 2016 and look forward to continuing that trend in Anaheim.

GWEC's activities during AWEA's Windpower

We are just over a week away from the largest wind power conference and exhibition in the Americas. This year’s WINDPOWER will be in Anaheim, California; and despite the venue being adjacent to Walt Disney’s original theme park, it is fair to say that companies will be talking serious business during the four day event.  Here’s how GWEC is involved this year.
