An exciting time in the development of South Africa’s wind market

The wind industry in South Africa is in full execution mode, with at least eight wind farms under construction from the first round of bids, some of which will come online as early as November this year.

In mid-May, the South African Energy Minister Dipuo Peters announced that the government has signed off agreements during the second round of bids with independent producers covering 19 renewable energy projects, including 562 MW of wind power. At the same time, the paperwork for the third bidding round has already been released.

Find out more about how the market is finally taking off, and how you could be part of it by participating in this year’s WINDaba conference and exhibition.  Submit an abstract and raise the profile of your company by presenting at the conference – deadline for abstract submission is 31 May 2013!!.

This year’s WINDaba will take place from 25-27 September in the CapeTown International Convention Centre.  WINDaba is the official wind industry event hosted by theSouth African Wind Energy Association(SAWEA) in partnership with GWEC.  Further information can be found on theevent website
