The wind industry in South Africa is in full execution mode, with at least eight wind farms under construction from the first round of bids, some of which will come online as early as November this year.
In mid-May, the South African Energy Minister Dipuo Peters announced that the government has signed off agreements during the second round of bids with independent producers covering 19 renewable energy projects, including 562 MW of wind power. At the same time, the paperwork for the third bidding round has already been released.
