In collaboration with Renewable Energy World, GWEC will be hosting the next in our series of Doing Business In ... webinars on 1 June at 15h CEST (13h GMT). The webinar will highlight the challenges that companies are likely to face when setting up their wind business in Brazil and we will hear practical tips as to how to overcome these. Elbia Silva Gannoum, CEO of ABEEolica, and Steve Sawyer, CEO of Global Wind Energy Council, will present.
Brazil is currently ranked 10th globally in terms of installed wind capacity with a total of 5.9 GW, and ambitions to increase this to 22GW by 2023. At least 12-13 GW are expected to be installed over the next 5 years, and with 4 auctions planned this year, this number may further increase. However, to be successful in doing business in such a fast growing wind market, you need to be aware of the challenges you're likely to face.
